February Ram Rally Flyer. Click Here! The Museum of Cultural Arts, Houston (MOCAH) is working in collaboration with Kashmere High School to create a Beacon sculpture for the new SPARK Park. The KHS Community Arts Initiative will document the history and cultural heritage of Kashmere High School in preparation for the celebration of the school’s 50th Anniversary in October 2007. Through a series of community art workshops, oral history interviews, field trips and special guest appearances, students from KSH will learn about the rich heritage and history of the school, neighborhood and alumni that have shaped and forged their community while creating a permanent work of art representing the pride of Kashmere High School. Students work with teachers, alumni and faculty to create a marketing plan for the project.
Art students in work begin to work with clay to make ceramic tiles of their classmates handprints. More than 50 students, teachers, alumni and faculty join MOCAH co-founders, Rhonda & Reginald Adams on a public art tour. The tour consisted of five public art projects produced by MOCAH youth artists. The tour sites included:
