Depelchin Children's Center Mural Project: Self-Discovery Saturday, January 12, 2002 approximately 15 clients and volunteers from the Depelchin Children's Center will work with public artist and Executive Director of MOCAH, Reginald Adams and assistant artist, Israel Barbosa. The participants from Depelchin will work one on one with the artists to create a design for a mural for the children's waiting area of a newly built facility at 100 Sandman. The theme of the mural project is Self-Discovery. The artists will conduct five creativity workshops with the participants to develop the design and composition for the final imagery of the mural. During each 1 1/2 hour workshop, the participants will be guided through creative writing and art making exercises which explore the dreams and aspirations that foster self-discovery. The purpose of the workshops are:
The fifth and final workshop will establish the premise of the composition of the mural.
