Chuma Okoli

Chuma Okoli was born in 1968 in Nigeria, Africa.  From his early childhood he has been using his creativity to produce drawings, paintings and other works of art.  He began illustrating comic stories for his childhood friends in elementary school which drew huge attention from his teachers and peers.  He then went on to formalize his art training at the Institute of Management and Technology at Enugu, Enugu State, Nigeria.  In 1993 Chuma earned a Bachelor in Arts in painting from this prestigious art academy.

Since 1984, he has been working professionally as an artist and in 1997 he moved his studio to Houston, TX, where he has established a strong following for his designs, illustrations, and mural works.

He has exhibited his works nationally and internationally and those works can be found in collections worldwide.  Along with his fine art skills he is an experienced Art Instructor and Creative Writer and belongs to notable professional associations such as the America Society of Portrait Artists.
